Council’s Role in Training and Accreditation

1. Promote and support training in traditional and alternative medicine

2. Approve in consultation with educational and research institutions determined by the Board the curriculum for training institutions and also for continuing education in Traditional and Alternative Medicine practitioners.

Any training institution in Ghana that will want a professional accreditation to train from Certificate to Doctor Of Medicine in
1. Herbal Medicine
2. ⁠Homeopathic Medicine
3. ⁠Naturopathic Medicine
4. ⁠Chiropractic Medicine
5. ⁠Radionics Medicine and any other professional training in Traditional and Alternative Medicine Will need a Professional Accreditation for the Institution and for the Curriculum Development with the Traditional Medicine Practice Council For the Ministry Of Health and a recommendation will be made to the GTEC and TVET for the academic Accreditation when needed.

How to Apply

You have to officially write for an application, attach your;

A. CV
B. Block Plan
C. Registration documents
D. EPA
E. BOP
F. Fire Service
G. Images of the premises with outside and inside image
H. Financial Statement or Management Account or last 6 month bank statement
I. Proposed programs and at what level e.g Certificate, Diploma, First Degree or Doctor Of Medicine
J. Approval from GTEC or TVET to using the name College or University etc
K. Any Affiliation

What happens after submissions and payment of all prescribed fees?

Inspection team will follow up to your premises

After inspection and report

One year provisional accreditation shall be considered or application rejected or recommendations made
All foreign institutions who want their graduates in Ghana to be recognized and accepted shall write and apply for an affiliation with the council and pay all the prescribed fees after submitting all registrations that makes them legal in the home country otherwise their graduates will not be considered to receive official or professional certification to practice in Ghana.
